On July 3, 2024 from 6:41 PM PDT to 6:50 PM PDT, some users were unable to access channels, send messages, or refresh authentication information.
The issue was caused by a sudden surge in service traffic. Although our auto-scaling system was in place, some servers experienced performance issues while we were in the process of increasing system capacity, leading to delays for a portion of the traffic.
The problem affected users who were connected to the overloaded user session management system during this time.
We have successfully resolved the issue by securing additional system capacity through our auto-scaling mechanisms. Our team is currently implementing measures to prevent similar incidents in the future, including:
1. Implementing predictive traffic analysis to schedule system auto-scaling in advance
